#SOL 2019 Day 6

I can’t find my coat. I wore it yesterday on our trip to the dentist. When we got home we were rushing to take the dog out, carry in the groceries and head to town. I realized I couldn’t find it and quickly grabbed another jacket. I had a library board meeting in the evening so I didn’t have time to search thoroughly. We crashed after that.

Today I called each stop we made to ask if they had found a leather jacket. No luck.

My husband said he could not believe I’d lost my coat. I can.

It’s been a stressful group of days.

And oh, yeah the coroner ruled the death natural causes.

  1. That stinks! I hope you find it. I remember when I was in college, I left a jacket in a practice room, not as valuable was a leather jacket. I made the jacket myself and was really bummed. I never did find it. I hope the person who “found” it enjoyed it.

  2. Your post reminded me of life after my own mother died… That underlying disbelief that you are dealing with such mundane everyday annoyances, while also being preoccupied with the shock of mortality and grief. We say life goes on… and then it just does.

  3. It’s hard to hold on to things when you’ve been so shaken. What’s a coat when you’re confronting mortality? Your writing is incredible. Thanks for sharing this Patricia.

  4. The lost and found pile at my school is embarrassing. There are some very expensive coats (not your leather one, but i’ll double check tomorrow), boots, hats, gloves, snowpants…I don’t get how the children can’t recognize any of their items.
I hope you find your jacket.

  5. Hey Pat I think your coat will show up when you least expect it. I know this past week has been very stressful but I’m sure you are glad to have the coroner’s report. Thinking of you! 🙂
