The Dirigible Plum wrote a slice about books publisher the year she was born, 1972, and I was inspired to search which books were published the year I was born, 1952.
You can read her SOL about the books published in 1972 here:
I was amused to find Charlotte’s Web! Kids have been reading that book forever!
Then I found a few that I have actually read and enjoyed.
This one I read in a college Children’s Literature class and quickly fell in love with the story.
And this one has been a favorite of mine for a long time.
I had no clue these books were published so long ago!
What a neat idea! I might have to give this a try.

Oh wow, Charlotte’s Web! How wonderful! East of Eden is one of those novels I’ve always meant to read and never gotten around to. Maybe someday? I enjoyed reading your post and so glad you found an idea to write about from my post!

Oooh! Thank you for The Borrowers reminder. That was one of my dearest favorites- as was The Littles. What a cool little piece of research you did- I may follow suit.

Beverly Cleary probably wrote some that year too.

I watched a clip of an interview with Jenna Hagar in which Cleary said she was a librarian when she started writing children’s books.

I was born in 52 also. I remember buying her books in a book of the month club in grade school.

I like this idea, also, and it’s really got me wondering now about the books from my birth year. I’ll have to do some research! Thanks for sharing! 🙂 ~JudyK
