I am participating in the Slice of Life challenge sponsored by Two Writing Teachers. This year I hope to record memories from being one half of a couple for 50+ years. Last year my husband got Covid and was in the critical care unit for 55 days. He died in April.
Dear David,
You would be in disbelief of what our son did today. It would be against your better judgment. It would be a shake your head kind of thing. And to make it worse, in the near future I am probably going to do the same.
He paid to have as EV charger installed inside his garage. Yes, they actually purchased an all electric vehicle. If they come home (150 miles) to visit & I hope they do, I need to have a dedicated charger for them to utilize.
Last year when we built the circle driveway, your car guy buddies teased you about installing an electric charger. They thought putting in inside the circle would be a perfect place!
Soon I will ask an electrician to check where we have an extra 240 breaker that can be used for our son’s new car charger! It won’t be inside a garage tho.
Love,
Patty Lou
Awww, I’m so sorry for your loss, but love the way you continue the conversation (as we often do). Little things remind us of our loved ones and how they would react. You captured this beautifully.

And yes, you will definitely set up a place where they can ‘plug in’ when they come to visit. 🙂
